The HS & EHS Program focuses on providing services to primarily low-income families, and children with disabilities. Our programs aim to promote school readiness, parent/family involvement, healthy child development, and healthy family functioning.
Part of the philosophy is that parents are the primary educators of their children. Therefore, HS & EHS provides opportunities for parents to actively involved with their children’s educational experience. Opportunities include classroom/ center activities and events, volunteering, Parent committee, and Policy council.

Service Hours - Head Start: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday - Friday
Service Hours - Early Head Start: 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
Eligibility Requirements
Child must be at least 2-months-old to be eligible for EHS and must be 3-years-old by September 1st to be eligible for HS.
Priorities for enrollment include:
- Low-income families
- Children with special needs/disabilities
- Children who have a sibling(s) already enrolled in the HS program
Applications can be picked up at any of our HS centers. All completed applications are returned to the HS in Agency Village, SD.
