The Veteran’s Service Office is here to provide transportation to Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate tribal members veterans to their VA appointments, and to also provide assistance to veterans with all VA application processes.

Program Summary and Responsibilities:

• Empower veterans to obtain all the benefits that they earned and are eligible for. To empower veterans to live quality lives with respect, honor, and dignity.

• Veterans and dependents can access full range of benefits available to them, fight for interest rates to be lowered on the Native American Direct Loan.

• Assist Veterans, widows, dependents with filing for compensation, pension, burial

  process, headstones or any other issues, bills from copays, hospitalizations, nursing home or aid care, to include any referrals for any issues.

• The TVSO works along with the SDDVA and other nationally chartered Veteran Service Organizations to ensure Veterans, Widows, and Dependents receive their entitled benefits.

• Maintain HIPAA and highest level of confidentiality any records viewed are only by

  Veteran or signed records release by Veteran when they want them sent with filing

  claims.
