CWA 106 Water Pollution Prevention Program
The CWA Section 106 Program was developed initially in 1996 by the SWO Office of Environmental Protection with EPA funding. The Section 106 program is an ongoing project to collect water quality data on watersheds within the Lake Traverse Reservation. The data collected will be used to assess the existing and potential non-point sources of surface water pollution on the Lake Traverse Reservation. The non-point source water quality assessment will be used to develop a comprehensive plan to restore and protect our tribal water resources. The Lake Traverse Reservation contains within the original boundaries, over 56,000 acres of lake surface water and over 2,100 miles of river and stream miles inside 5 major watersheds.
