Mission

To work collaboratively to provide safe, educational physical and social activities that will engage and empower youth of SWO to lead a lifelong healthy lifestyle instilled for future generations. Plan and coordinate safe and fun activities that will enrich self-confidence, high self esteem, good sportsmanship, team effort and physical well-being for all ages, abilities and interests.

The Veterans Memorial Youth Center is a center of our native culture, education and recreation. All native youth have an opportunity to learn, grow and live a healthy lifestyle.

VMYC Membership:

Membership is open to youth between the ages of 5 and 18. A membership form must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian for each youth attending. Our membership fee is free. Additional fees may be charged for our summer program and/or field trips.

VMYC School Year Hours:

3:00pm - 6:00pm all ages

7:00pm - 9:00pm teens (ages 12-18)

Saturdays open for special events.


VMYC will be open regular hours on days when school is not in session (i.e., school holidays, Spring Break, etc). The exceptions to this are tribally observed holidays in which the VMYC will be closed.

Summer Hours:

8:00am - 5:00pm M-F


*VMYC reserves the right to change its hours and days of operation based on need and/or act of God. If such changes occur, parents/guardians will be notified in advance.
Additionally, there may be days when it is necessary to close VMYC due to unforeseen circumstances such as emergency repairs, inclement weather, etc. Again, when such instances arise, we will do our best to post this information so as to mitigate any inconvenience this may cause. If there is no school because of the weather then VMYC will be closed also.
