The Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate will protect, conserve and manage fish and wildlife related resources within the exterior boundaries of the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation for the benefit of the members of the Tribe. The Agriculture program promotes conservation and beneficial use on the trust lands dedicated to agricultural and livestock production to assure optimum use of such lands are consistent with the conservation of the reservation’s basic natural resources. Provides for the initiation and determination for changes in land use plans for reservation lands as conditions may warrant. Provides assistance with land improvement such as fencing, erosion control, rangeland restoration, and weed control. The agriculture program also will conduct annual rental reviews for leases upon renewal or issuance of a land lease.
